Any previous iteration of Guardiola’s City teams would gobble these up from here. This one still got it all to prove.

I thought he was great at RB against Arsenal before he went off injured earlier in the season.

Getting played off the park by a team with a forward slash in their name

Absolutely, don't know another City fan that doesn't want this boxed off ASAP. But this isn't one charge like Everton/Forest where they also pled guilty (I think?), this is multi national, large scale corruption they're accusing us of. Could go on for years and for due diligence it has to, right?

I agree it's frustrating even as a City fan to want resolving once and for all, but did anybody really expect a legal case of this magnitude to be cleared up inside a year or two? If it was in the traditional financial/corporate world, i.e. not football, would this not be quite normal?

17.01.2026 11:30 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

Is it not quite normal for legal process like this, especially given the fact there's 115 charges & about 4 of them basically accuse City (facilitated by major corporations like Deloitte) of cooking the books, i e. immensely serious with wide impacts for multiple parties, to take years to resolve?

Like watching a tribute act from City teams of seasons gone by. League's done, Arsenal won't drop the points and we're not consistent/good enough to capitalise even if they did.

I hate having to justify supporting City to anyone new I meet when they go "ahh but how long have you really supported City?" Long enough to question whether my dad's brainwashing as a kid was borderline child cruelty given what I was used to watching!!

That first half was like watching many many of our games last season but with us as the team keeping it tight and being clinical on the counter attack. Everything went stale last season, so good to see we're trying to evolve our play. But would still love the FT whistle now πŸ˜‚ #mcfc

Many occasions this season. Teams don't mind sitting back and breaking on us, because we're doing a lot less of anything meaningful when we have the ball. Injuries haven't helped. But we've become stale and predictable. Young fresh legs needed and some big names, sadly, need moving on #mcfc

Massive rebuild needed next season. We're trying to play our possession based style of football we've had so much success with, but with a tired/stale and, re. some recent signings, inferior players. The result was yesterday's performance and the one at Southampton last week, which we've seen on 1/2

Would be a brilliant location for a new ground, great train, tram and motorway links. Be interesting to see if anything comes of this.

VAR isn't the problem. Football's use of it is the issue. Rugby/cricket/tennis etc. has mastered the ability to efficiently use it 99% of the time. Baffling how football just can't perfect it. That review should not have taken 5 mins #UCL

Binned off my season ticket post COVID (rush to get back to empty stadiums + Super League fiasco) made me realise the club is a big beast now & doesn't care about old fans. Go 4x a year now and it's like Disneyland/going the theatre. Not the same. Fans like me aren't the clubs target market anymore

Just started yours and Sophie's book yesterday, Rory. It's brilliant, and really shows how far she's come since you got her thinking back to your first posts on Twitter. You and your wife have done a brilliant job, Sophie is lucky to have found you both.

Also incredibly frustrating that seemingly every pundit has based their knowledge/opinion on Khusanov on the opening 10 mins against Chelsea and still chime in with a comment on his inexperience/shakiness
