Agreed. And there are definitely better. But as far as I am aware not free which makes it a game changer IMO. The problem is the paid models like Claude do not store your questions/responses/code for future potential training unless you opt in. Gemini does, so we need to be careful what we feed it!

Google Gemini CLI is a game changer. Free, with ridiculous context memory and generous memory

But (warning)…
Read the T&C. github.com/google-gemin...
If using the free model, they store your questions, responses and code for training (think env files!)

Use. But use with caution ⛔️

Dear Emma,
Thank you for your correspondence of 5 February, on behalf of your constituent,
Ms Emily Rae of [address redacted], regarding the
Advanced Mathematics Support Programme (AMSP).
The department remains committed to ensuring all children and young people have a
strong foundation in mathematics to thrive in the modern economy, regardless of
background and socioeconomic status. The AMSP remains a government funded
programme that continues to positively impact mathematics education across
England.
The department is aware of sector concerns regarding the reductions made to the
AMSP funding and is examining alternative options to support provision for
advanced mathematics.
The department continues to work with the AMSP supplier, Mathematics Education
Innovation, to ensure high-quality professional development continues and support
remains available to schools and colleges to continue rising standards in level 3
mathematics. Support also includes alternative tuition directly to level 3 further
mathematics students, in cases where it either is not offered or can no longer be
offered by their school or college. More information and updates on how the AMSP
can support schools and colleges is available on the AMSP website at:
tinyurl.com/V849XKW5.
Thank you for writing on this important matter.
Yours,
Catherine McKinnell MP
Minister for School Standard

Re: AMSP funding.
I wrote to my MP expressing concerns about the cuts to AMSP funding; she wrote to the DfE, and this is the reply she has forwarded on to me.

Teacher pension rates increase to maintain scheme sustainability
With the third pay increase on the way, check which band you belong to
The bands are also rising, all by 1.7%, to help offset the effect of the pay increases

Project talkie toaster update:

Finally got around to starting this using an offline LLM

The code is almost ready, just need to stop it getting into an endless loop listening to its own responses and answering itself

Stack
Raspberry pi 5 8gb
Deepspeech
OLLAMA with llama 3
Coqui TTS

Ofsted.

-Give all schools 3 targets following every inspection
-Assign an officer post inspection to collaborate as a case worker in a supportive manner to help schools attain
-It will be obvious how good the school is to the general public due to the nature of the targets

Solved it
