Using a tiny superconducting circuit chip, they trapped an electrical current behind an energy barrier. They then directly observed the current "tunneling" through that barrier, a quantum leap on a visible scale.

The other is "quantization of energy." This principle states that subatomic particles can only absorb or emit energy in fixed, discrete amounts, or "quanta"—like a staircase, not a ramp.

Normally, these tiny effects are invisible in large objects like us. We can't just tunnel through walls.
