01.02.2025 01:17 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0The Trump administration is scrubbing the CDC’s website of documents on reproductive rights issues, sexual health, intimate partner violence, and more.
I'm trying to save them.
You can find the deleted docs at cdcguidelines.com - I'll be adding more over the weekend.
How were they following the guidance by not testing a high risk exposure. Have they read this www.cdc.gov/bird-flu/pre...
24.01.2025 04:18 — 👍 3 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0The upper right corner of the image includes some thin-shelled nematode eggs containing larvae. The remainder of the slide shows the gastointestinal tract of a nematode (Oslerus osleri) which is filled with canine cells that the worm has ingested. Some of the leucocytes in the gut of the worm have prominent brightly eosinophilic (pink) intracytoplasmic inclusion bodies that are consistent with canine distemper virus.
A lower magnification view of one of the nematodes. The nematode has a thin body wall. The body cavity (pseudocoelom) contains transverse sections of uterus and intestine. The intestine contains numerous nucleated host cells that have been ingested. Most of the uterus is distended by thin-shelled eggs that contain larvae. One section of uterus contains a few less mature, non-larvated eggs.
A small airway of a dog that contains a transverse section of a single nematode. A cross section of the nematodes intestine has multiple vacuoles in the epithelial cells. A larger lumenal structure in the body of the nematode has numerous tall epithelial cells containing a single nucleus and a prominent brush border. I am unsure of the identity of the larger structure. Many if not most of the epithelial cells of the dog's airway have beautiful, sharply demarcated, brightly eosinophilic (pink) intracytoplasmic inclusion bodies consistent with canine distemper virus.
I challenge anyone to find a cooler #histopathology slide! Intracytoplasmic viral inclusions, in ingested canine cells, in the gut of a #nematode in the bronchiole of a dog!

The child of morning, rosy-fingered dawn, appeared on this impression smear of a young dog’s itchy moist alopecic skin, and I’m transported to the gates of heaven, opening for the rising sun. Which sure beats hanging around in this bat-cave of an office. #eos #homer #vetmed #vetthreads #cytology

I’m a non-forensic veterinarian and I see plenty of disgusting things too. It’s mind blowing to me what kind of depravity falls inside the boundaries of “normal human behavior.”

19.11.2024 18:39 — 👍 2 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0100% agree. I wonder what will happen if they cut #USDA funding. We won’t be able to get health certificates endorsed for #pet travel. Of course if they destroy #publichealth & don’t enforce #vaccination, we probably can’t travel anyway - with or without pets - what country would let us in?
