i am doing this post not only to honor the people in the story, but also to honor my dear friend, John Burton, who has left the physical world. Our world was made better because of John and all the people like him.

My friend, & former President pro tempore of the California Senate, John Burton passed away September 7th.
i’ve been grieving his loss & didn't know what to post until i saw this article.
John was loud, opinionated, & cursed constantly. AND he had the kindest heart underneath his gruff exterior.
Long before i became known for my environmental efforts. i always encourage people to adopt, foster, or at the very least help kids in a meaningful way who are living on the streets or in foster care.

People like this are my heroes. People know me as the girl who lived in a tree. Most people don't know that i’ve been helping youth who are living on the streets & kids in foster care & transitioning out of foster care without ever being adopted since i was a teenager.

My soul would choose irrelevance over the constant posting of cacophony.
So, i disappear for years, weeks, and days.
Because my soul would rather disappear into itself
than to have to prove itself to a world gone mad.
i have no words.
Only silence.
The cacophony of chaos of our current times, seems a madness to me.
A screaming, screeching, fingernails on chalkboards.
Technology makes people think we HAVE to have something to say
in order to have relevance.
