"Propaganda" is the correct term here, as well. OP is arguing explicitly in favor of political education from a specific point of view. That is straightforwardly what propaganda is.

The "job" of an op/ed page isn't found in nature, it is not some objective thing you are revealing to us here. What determines the "job" of an op/ed page is the result of decisions made by that paper's editors. Consequently, it is always a choice to provide a platform for propaganda.

Really can't be left unacknowledged that every single state in the region that houses US military personnel, except for maybe two, do so against the will of the supermajority of their own public's opinion but it does not matter because most of these states are US backed dictatorships.
