My display board is coming along pretty well. I'm really excited about how it's coming together. It's been really fun trying out new skills and techniques.
Sully is such a fun mini to do and I'm having a good time playing with textures.

I don't know about chore but it's just not sparking joy. I do still definitely like list building and theory plotting but just haven't been as motivated on that side of the hobby

I haven't been vibing with the gaming side of the hobby as much the last couple months but all the more I'm loving painting and the stories of table top.

The biggest changes are that the golds are based, and I did some work on the rock the Saurus is standing on. I want to add a little mud and grass to it when im done with everything else.

When comic book meets corrosion ✍️
I took my first shot at comic-style weathering on a Taro Modelmaker practice panel. I drew on my background in historical painting, adding chipping and rust.
What do you think, does the weathering fit the comic look?

Neither him, nor Ragnor made the jump. It's really a shame as my two most played casters.

If I can get my hands on one I will. I checked eBay and ~$20 is about the going rate so really not bad even to buy new.

A real #throwbackthursday to Horgle, the Anvil I painted at the beginning of MkIII Wamahordes YEARS ago. He was absolutely my favorite caster to run at the time. Really tempted to strip him and give him an updated paint job.

Thanks! I was a little worried it was too heavy handed. I also think I missed the color a bit. I was aiming for a brass and I think its a bit too poppy of a yellow for it.

Legacy is there, even if they're not formally play supported. I haven't actually gotten any new games in yet though. My local meta totally dried up around COVID and hasn't seen a lot of traction. I wanted to get some just for a fun painting project.

Thanks! I had some excellent advice from @andycruns.bsky.social that helped give me good direction on it. I think it turned out well for a tabletop piece. Definitely need more reps before I try it on a show piece.

Thanks, and ya! Them being clearly sailors with worn gear I think helps sell the vibe really well. I just didn't know if I was pushing it too far.

No such thing as too much lol I like it. It's Warmachine, there's a newer edition of the game, MKIV, and it's given it a good shot in the arm.
