Strip Farming and the Wheat Stem Sawfly on the Canadian Prairies, 1930s-1940s Dust and grasshoppers dominated 1930s prairie agriculture, but wheat stem sawflies also impacted farming, complicating soil conservation and pest control efforts.

"There’s another insect with the potential to tell us about the 1930s and about the ongoing process of reconciling the prairie environment and large-scale agriculture – the wheat stem sawfly." - @stundenbower.bsky.social
