Hasn't been an appetite thing but since my brother died there's a huge knot around my chest and lungs and I have to consciously do stuff to ease it. So yeah I can well imagine if that had afflected my stomach.

I love that oddballs like that were around and on tv. They made an impression on me.

I think the takeaway from this, for me, is that what's enforced/emphasised stays with you: this one never was for me, so the response has been instructive.

Fair. I think in recent years I've heard 'different than' more often, and I'd defend 'different to' over that, whatever degrees of wrong they both might be.
