They’re pretty great. Done a few test drives and always liked them (besides too many warning beeps). The 001 is popping up a lot here in NL and they have amazing presence but also are really nicely specced out.

They brought a cake from their favorite bakery.

I made French-press coffee.

We sat around the table and chatted about ourselves, the house, and our plans for the future.

Today the young future buyers of my house came over to take a closer look at the place and discuss things they might want to buy out from me (appliances, curtains, etc.). As I said, all shockingly civil. No realtor present, just people crossing paths through life. /7

But despite the painful rejection and insane prices, it’s been so nice to see everything stay civil. There’s not enough calm civility in our world right now, so I feel super lucky to live in (and be a citizen of) a place where it’s still valued and practiced. /6

But the market is FIERCE in NL right now, so it can also be exhausting and painful, especially for young buyers who are effectively outbid on everything. I felt so bad for the young families I had to disappoint. /5

I was able to send a note back to those who didn’t win thanking them for their messages and wishing them success in their search. /4

All of the bidders on the house include a handwritten note about themselves and even photos. A huge no-no in the US, it actually made me sob reading the reasons people wanted to buy my house. It was honestly really hard to choose, despite a clear highest bidder 😓 /3

The bidding process happens fast and open. Clear deadline. Simple digital form. Answer within 24 hours. If you win, it’s almost too fast, the clock starts ticking immediately on getting financing in place.

If you don’t have the highest bid, at least you know quickly and can move on. /2

I’m currently in the process of selling my house and buying a new one. It’s been more than a decade since the last time I went through it and wasn’t really prepared for just how *pleasant* the process still is here in NL (once you get over the prices). /1

It definitely does! Wonder if it was removed for production or if buyers in those markets just thought it was a “model-specific” badge since Mercury doesn’t exist there.

Silver, I mean!

I love (and have owned) a GTV but as I get older the Giulia becomes more and more appealing. That orange color is wonderful, but doesn’t feel quite right in the car compared to the green.

As a former owner, I’d love a restomod Alfa GTV, but I feel like the super wide stance (and fender flares) and offset lamps undermine the “light on its toes” stance and driving feel. This isn’t a car that’s meant to be angry, but fun. Interior (pic in other post) is spectacular though.

Weirdly Horse do not seem to have any mention of the Caterham deal in their own press page, but all their other releases use initial cap only.

Was listening to latest @smithandsniff.bsky.social today and heard the mention of HORSE. Weirdly, they don’t seem to use the all-caps styling for the name on their own website, which means the shouting in the press release was likely a Caterham choice.
