Socks are fine but I wanted to try painting pantyhose.

"Apollon, God of Sun", a resin casted 75mil scale character model blending greek mythology with sci-fi stylistic style and shape. With my paintjob for it, I chose to specifically enhance those aspects, which I did by painting shiny nmm in brass and pale blue steel, combined with striking space freehand on the horses, wheels and red cape mainly made up of tiny stippled stars, put in layers with subtle colored glazing and of course, whole galaxies and nebulae, planets and other celestial bodies, for most of which I used actual astrophotography as reference. The fully assembled model of the chariot was mounted on a plinth I 3D-sculpted in blender and printed by miniprinten.nl, who I've been partnered with for years. (code 'cryocheese' for 10% off hehe). I then filler sprayed it, sanded it down (both multiple times in a row), before priming and painting it by flicking paint to look like stars. Model sold by Kimera Models (challenging assembly tho - fair warning) Paints: Kimera pure pigment paints Brushes: Raphael 8404

I completed this massive commission project last week - just in time for SMC.

It's been a project defined by artistic freedom, passion and fun more than anything and I hope you enjoyed all 33 wip posts since january 😅❤️

Now to decide on the next project!
