This has been a bit of a heavy week, so I'm going to try focus on happier things over the next few days. I didn't get far yet, but I've started up Dragon Quest VII on PC. While it wasn't my favourite one in the series, this remake looks promising. The visuals and diorama style do look promising.

Video games are special to each of us for different reasons.

Some of us were lonely, isolated, and had trouble making friends as kids. We were "different".

Video games gave us a feeling that we almost never got to haveโ€”A feeling of control.

And we finally got to feel what it was like to ๐˜ธ๐˜ช๐˜ฏ.

The push for antiprivacy going on is genuinely disturbing. It is a matter of safety rather than anything else. They used to teach people not to put volunteer information on the internet, and now you have organizations demanding it. It's not about protecting anyone. It's about surveillance of them.

Well, I've got two MAJOR JRPG birthdays today for the Playstation.

Xenogears AND Final Fantasy VIII

Both turn 28 and 27 years old TODAY!

Xenogears has a major cult following and, well, so does FFVIII! And yea, each is a liiittle divisive for different reasons too.

Are YOU a fan of these games?

I normally dislike talking about all of the things that bother me here. I try my best to be as upbeat and optimistic as I can. However, the AI bubble needs to collapse, screw @discord.com for hurting its userbase, and all victims of a certain list need justice. I'm sorry for venting, but thank you.

I was hoping that I could get filament locally, but it looks like that I'll have to have it ordered. So, I will probably just go through @bambulabglobal.bsky.social directly to acquire some. It seems pretty decently priced for ten spools of it. Then, I can just look into replacements afterwards. ๐Ÿ™‚

My 3D printer should be arriving sometime today. I'm really excited about that. Though I still need to buy some filament. I had forgotten about it in my haste to order the machine. I already have a bunch of projects lined up to break the machine in a bit. A lot of tools, and some parts for it.

I'm feeling a bit congested today, for reasons I am unsure of. The new Protomen album is absolutely amazing. I've been listening to it a lot since I got it. It is totally worth the price of admission, and hopefully, it sells like gangbusters. I've even had it on while coding and it's perfect for it.

The remake of Dragon Quest VII looks promising. I should probably pull the trigger on it, but I keep hesitating. Not sure why. Perhaps due to budgeting stress. Between that and the "new" Like a Dragon game coming out this month. I'll get one of them soon. Not sure which though. Both are fun games.

My excitement over getting a new piece of hardware is very high. I cannot wait for my new 3D printer to get here. I need to get a NVMe and PSU for my server, but that is going to hurt. The stupid AI bubble has made the former prohibitively expensive. Let all AI companies collapse soon. Fuck AI Bros.

I have a genuine passion for computers and technology. Not just cybersecurity, or the like. It is fascinating the physics behind how everything works. It's just so amazing to me. Terry Pratchett once wrote, "do you know that, in a universe so full of wonders, they have managed to invented boredom".

I have been looking at the myriad of free print options available for prints. A couple of more advanced designs, but some fairly simple beginner projects. I'm really quite excited about getting filaments to do something cool. This is the start of a long, fascinating journey back into the makerspace.

I've been doing a lot of research about the @bambulabglobal.bsky.social A1, and I really think that I've made a good purchase. I was worried about a lack of customization, but that doesn't seem to be the case. I do wish to upgrade a few things later, but for now, it seems like a good starter rig.

I've finally pulled the trigger on a @bambulabglobal.bsky.social A1 Combo, yesterday. I'm simultaneously excited and nervous about my purchase. I finally have something to make my own prints with, but it was a fair bit of money to drop on something. Hopefully, I can make a lot of use out of it. ๐Ÿ™‚

I've finally decided on which 3D printer I'm going to get. It's going to cost the top end of my budget for it, but it has most of what I'm looking for. It's sadly not an enclosed unit, but I can fix that later. I can't wait to finally get one and make my own prints for things. Makerspace of my own.

I'm way too neurotic when it comes to big purchases. I keep deep diving customer experiences with different 3D printers like I'm doing a science experiment. I want to get one, but I keep finding issues with ones I like. Things like breaking in a year. I'll pull the trigger on one soon, but yikes.

The number of cozy games that have been both released and releasing in the future is awesome. While I am into FPS, RPGs, Bullet Hells, and other games that get your energy up, I adore ones that you can chill out with. That's not to say you can't with RPGs, but it's a different kind of relaxing. ๐Ÿ™‚

The more I look at 3D printers, the more research I seem to keep doing. It seems like I've narrowed down the right one, but will probably have to get it without the multi-filament box. I will get it later, but it'll save me some coin for now. It looks amazing, but I want to see some videos on it.

I really need to look into another small sling bag later. Nothing large, and probably closer to fannypack size. Mostly for a less bulky EDC option for when I can't really bring a laptop. I will check Amazon or a couple of other places later. The pineapple/tropical ones I have are fun and well made.

I know that I keep saying this, but it feels as if the 3D printer choice is narrowed down to two or three units that I can afford. They are all very nice looking with good customer feedback. The highest end of the budget uses up to four filament spools. My only concern is that it isn't enclosed.

It's so cold out this morning. I long for snow days, where it almost felt like the world slowed down for just a little bit. I'm so glad to have a warm hoodie to stay somewhat comfortable. I have been looking into a 3D printer to buy, and have it narrowed down to two or three that look worth getting.

The LoRa cap for my Cardputer should be here soon. I'm very excited for it to arrive in the mail. Having another Mesh device on-hand is encouraging since it gives another device for emergencies. I'm unsure if it'll be a node or relay, but I'll figure that out soon. Probably good to have for travel.

Holy crap, they weren't kidding when they said Canada was going to be cold this weekend. I'm so glad that I don't need to be out today. I picked up a bottle of this Irish cream, so I might have some later with this lovely hot cocoa I have. That and tinkering with my Cardputer just sounds like fun.

It's so friggin cold today. I wish it was possible to just stay home, but alas, I cannot. Work from home is something that I ever increasingly want to try for with a future job. I really need to look at employment that offers it. Though, I can't deny the exercise benefits of manual labour jobs too.
