It's a slippery slope -- I used to say I liked the Sewing Bee but I didn't sew, and now I own a sewing machine and half my wardrobe is made by me...

I'm just getting over Covid and re-watched 4 seasons, which means I've now seen every episode more than twice. (It also means when I have a wonky seam I can hear Esme's voice in my head. Is that good? Bad?)

That IS a beautiful city centre. I was thinking yesterday about how my plans when I was a teenager were never "travel the world" or "go live overseas" it was always just "GET ME OUT OF CALIFORNIA". (Proud to say that I left 2 days after graduating high school in 1990 and have never been back.)

I really loved that part too. It made me question how I see my reader, and how often I make choices based on competition vs. partnership.

Myna, YAY! I have literally never met anyone who felt the same! Let's build a treehouse and have a club!

I really like this idea, thank you. It makes me think of an excellent article I read years ago that talked about how "innate talent" doesn't exist, it's just really really really hard work on the part of the creative person.

Ooo, cool question. I'm looking at a 15k novella and pondering ways to turn it into an 80k novel. It's VERY hard to shut up that voice that's like "this is a waste of time, you can't write a novella".
