BREAKING: Blackhawks extend Frank Nazar for seven years The Chicago Blackhawks surprised the fanbase on Thursday by announcing they had extended forward Frank Nazar to a seven-year contract extension worth $6.59 million per season beginning in the 2026-27 season. The 5-foot-10, 190-pound forward out of Detroit, Michigan, has put up 27 points (13 goals, 14 assists) in 56 career NHL games with the Blackhawks. He was selected by the Blackhawks in the first round (13th overall) of the 2022 NHL Draft and made his NHL debut on April 14, 2024. The pick used to select Nazar was acquired on July 7, 2022, from the Montreal Canadiens (via the New York Islanders) with a third-round pick (66th overall, Gavin Hayes) for Kirby Dach.

He's not worth this YET. By overpaying now, he could be a huge bargain in 2 years, when the cap will be going way up.

Also, this is a message to all the people thinking there will be some stupid lowball offer to Bedard. That kid is going to get paid, too, and paid well.

This “anything can happen” culture is probably the worst ever. No amount of logic, science or data will convince them. They just believe in magic, sorcery and incredible miracles. We have gone backwards as a society.

A blind spot in my musical taste has been #NIN. They are fine but not a big fan (or fan at all). We’ll see if seeing them live changes that tonight.

It's amazing to me that people think Patrick Kane would want to stay in Chicago to lose 40+ games a year and ride the coaching carousel. He's not enough to help more than 2-3 wins a season at his age.
