12.06.2025 11:01 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0It's mostly super big streamers from 2010-2014 (only speedrunners really are Narcissa Wright and a few videos from Siglemic) but I definitelly recommend checking if there is something of anyone's interest since the .flv files have great quality considering how much time has passed.

08.03.2025 12:51 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Current plan is to get started on 2011 and at some point take a break to go back and fix old scores in the earlier years, similar to what I did in December, before getting back on hard maps in 2013.
This gets into the era where there are a lot of nostalgic maps for me, so it should be a lot of fun.
Getting through all of 2010 feels very rewarding, and I am very sure I'll be doing all of 2011 as well. 2012 onwards is where I get the feel many of the easier maps may get more and more formulaic, so it might not be interesting enough to literally clear all of them in a row.
08.03.2025 12:51 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Global map leaderboard stats from December compared to now
Most of the gained #1s are outspins which imo is a bit lame, but in fairness there are a lot of very good spin players these days so getting those are definitely not easy. I gained a lot more than expected, so that's pretty cool in the end.
Highest total pp from maps in 2010, so adding up from every single map rather than a weighted top 100 akin to regular top plays. Top 2 in this stat between 2007-2010.
08.03.2025 12:51 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Top 5 in SS count for 2010, I know the top 2 don't really use DoubleTime, unsure about 3-4
08.03.2025 12:51 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Some fun stats after having cleared all of these maps:
#2 in Ranked Score for all of 2010 and combined 2007-2010, only behind the legend himself
2010 has the highest amount of maps with a leaderboard in the game until 2018 (!), barely edging out 2015 by less than 100 maps. 2013 and 2014 interestingly drop off a decent bit compared to preceding years, perhaps as a result of stricter quality control back then.
2011 is thankfully a fair bit shorter in terms of map count compared to 2010, which happens to be the biggest year in the game all the way until 2018 (!).
I also rate 2011 higher than 2010 as there is a lot less boring filler, but this opinion may change after I've actually played all the maps.
Ended up going from around April 2010 to March 2013 before taking a break in December of last year.
The unfortunate side effect of this order of playing is that playing only relatively easy maps for a few months can get a little bit boring lol, so while I'm planning to work on 2011 in the coming month, it's very likely I'll try and go back to some harder maps before actually completing that year.
08.03.2025 12:51 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Nearly 3000 clears since the start of this 'grind' and the end of December. In all of 2024, in which I would say I played a ton of mostly harder maps for 9 or so months, I reached around 7000 clears.
I set up for this grind last year by playing through all of the top difficulties (and some harder lower difficulties) of every 2010, 2011 and 2012 set.
This was basically in order to set up a low difficulty-rush with low amount of retrying, and I managed clear over 1000 maps per month this way.
An update to this after a little over two months, 2010 is now DONE (random stats + thoughts below) ๐งต
08.03.2025 12:51 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0alright that's enough speedrunning for 2025
13.01.2025 19:32 โ ๐ 5 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Goal for 2025 will be returning to lower difficulties and work on clearing every map from 2010, likely 2011 and maybe 2012 as well. It feels crazy to still have so much motivation 10 years on, but I plan to go all out for the first half of 2025 so we will see where I end up.
The grind goes on โ
Beatmap Packs (January 2024 - December 2024)
I decided to resume my Beatmap Pack grind of playing top difficulties of every set along with hard stuff in general, old to new. Started with maps from April 2010 and got all the way to March 2013, huge grinding and many good scores, very happy.
2009 Completion (Achieved in January 2024)
Clearing every lower difficulty is a project I started in March 2023, and I managed 2007 and 2008 quite easily in that year given how few maps there are. 2009 took a bit longer, but I'm happy with the end result of clearing all the maps with high scores.
*Bonus osu! section* ๐ด๐ต๐ข๐ก
osu! ended up taking much more time than speedrunning this year, for better or worse. My account had its 10 year anniversary in November, and I decided to grind the game a ton this year, focusing pretty much exclusively on older maps as I have been the past few years.
2024 was a solid year considering the limited time I gave myself for speedruns, and I managed to even fit in a few new games compared to 2023 so I'm definitely happy with how the year went. Both ESA events were fun too, will definitely consider ESA Summer 2025 if people are interested in going.

Another tourney revisit with some added timesaves found in 2024. Ended up getting 2nd place here as well along with a solid PB, but definitely with big enough mistakes that I think it can be improved in the future. Not super fond of the game but we'll see.

Originally wasn't planning to run this until they discovered the Wrong Warp tech that made the run sub-hour. Any% is a pretty bad speedrun, but it was fun to see new strats getting found in real time. The PB I ended up settling with is solid for its strats.

Picked this game back up for the mini-tournament Glyph decided to host in September, in which I placed 2nd. Part of me still wants to go for a sub 50 time, but the game is just less fun compared to LA, so we'll see if it ever ends up happening.

This is a run I myself had no idea I would pick up, but mostly did it as a bit of a joke after a friend of mine that runs 3D Mario games suggested I would pick SMB1 up since it'd be more up my alley. Met my goal of a sub 5 minute run within a few weeks.

FSA ended up getting big skips this year, pushing the record down from a 2:01 to a low 1:53, and making many levels much easier. The PB rating is low for this one as I stopped far before reaching the level of my old 2:08, so I plan on revisiting this.
