An Idaho history teacher is refusing to remove the classroom sign, “Everyone is welcome here.”
“There are only two opinions on this sign: Everyone is welcome here, or not everyone is welcome here,” she said.
To abandon inclusion is to invite exclusion.

Needed to remind myself today.

Take care of yourselves to have the strength to keep going. ✊🏽
The right to due process is a cornerstone of our legal system. It doesn't matter what your immigration status is — you have rights under our Constitution.
Make sure you are prepared. Make a family plan, contact a lawyer in advance, and memorize at least one emergency phone number.
Federal workers are disproportionately Black. Ending DEI AND also eliminating the explicit prohibition against discrimination in hiring and in federal contracting is therefore about more than the culture wars. It, like the affirmative action ban, is about limiting opportunity for Black advancement.

It’s not just “if you commit a crime” it is “if you are accused of a crime” which means that every one of us who isn’t white can and will be targeted for indefinite detention. You gonna walk around with your papers?

Do Not Panic. Three. Ask for Identification. Four. Notify the College President. An Important note is that warrant verifications and subpoenas are required. Staff and faculty cannot provide student information. Campus security will not be enforcing federal immigration law.

Trying to stay hopeful. Keep close to dear ones and community. So much happening around the U.S., Southern California, LA, and here in the IE. So much happening in the world to fellow humans and the earth. Overwhelming. May solidarity, care, and love be practiced and felt, even in uncertain times 🦋
