Bio: "Gadgetlab is a writer, editor, and sorta-professional-talker-about-pop-culture. He has written for short fiction anthologies, fan magazines, screenplay contests, and pop culture news blogs, among other avenues (such as "any conversation his friends will let him yammer on endlessly about a given topic in"). He first played Kingdom Hearts with KHII in middle school and beat the final boss on a school night by pausing, turning off the TV, and waking up at 6AM to punch it in the face some more. After a dark era in which he presumed the Final Fantasy series was a shared universe, and being beat up by the ATB system in a back alley caused him to forego the series in favor of Bravely Default, he finally fell into the rabbit hole thanks to Final Fantasy XIV and has been digging further ever since, with an ever-growing backlog. He is currently hunting for Chaos.". The excerpt sample provided by the contributor is the following: "Certainly, his appearance caused some confusion among the populace when he was younger, but aside from a few stray comments from non-locals, Zayni’a hadn’t faced many issues. He didn’t really have an explanation for his look, but most appeared to take him at his word when he told them his parents were Lallafel; ergo, he must be a Lallafel too. The logic was shaky, admittedly, but few pressed the point. Still, his parents seemed keen over the years to have him not bring much attention to the discrepancy between parent and child; it must have been an awkward situation for them, too. His name didn’t help matters. Zayni’a was a distinctly Miquo’te sounding moniker, but his parents always brushed the apostrophe away as a mistake on his birth certificate. One they kept forgetting to get fixed. He should remind them, once all was said and done."

Chain of Memories on the gameboy advance was her first introduction to the worlds of Kingdom Hearts and Final Fantasy, starting a lifelong love of both franchises.". Bio: "Kingdom Hearts has been with me for a long time and as a musician it is what solidified my decision to keep pursuing that! It was also my gateway to Final Fantasy; I was a big fan of Aerith and Yuna and that led to further exploration of the franchise. I don't want to ramble too terribly much about the music, but Yoko Shimomura is probably the closest thing I have to a hero for all the work she put into both series, it has been so hugely impactful on me both as a musician and an artist! Her first introduction to Kingdom Hearts was through a very out-of-order reading of the manga from her local library, only getting to finally play them this last year. Her introduction through Final Fantasy VII was through the remake, and she's been enjoying playing around with the worlds of both.". The excerpt sample provided by the contributor is the following: "Cloud nudges out the kickstand for his bike and approaches the tree. The world feels like it’s slowing down with each step. He blinks, his vision swimming in a way that he sickeningly recognizes, Mako-green clouding his eyesight. It’s a good thing he stopped if he’s having an episode. Cloud walks to the tree and sits down; it’s best to be sitting, in case it’s bad or goes on for a while. Cloud blinks again and- Zack is there. Zack smiles at Cloud. There are dark circles under his eyes. The time of day has changed, the branches above are shorter than they were a moment ago, with more leaves. Zack reaches forwards, his mouth moving. Cloud can’t hear what he’s saying though. He waits to feel Zack’s hand on his head, but it never comes. Between one breath and the next, Zack and green-tinted world fade away, tucked somewhere inside of Cloud that he can’t reach."
