Some days the job of an engineer is all about alignment. Sometimes that's goal alignment (difficult, but possible), other times its CSS alignment (impossible).

Still down? Looks like it is up for me. Ghost is updating their infra to Ghost 6.0 at the moment so things could be a bit unsteady at the moment.

This is a picture of #Aspire running in a GitHub Codespace with an ubuntu-based container exposing a port-forwarded desktop via noVNC in which I've installed #Aspire and launched another apphost - #Aspire inception:

We're listening :) We are making lots of investments in deployment right now (foundational changes have been shipping since 9.2, but more are arriving in 9.4 and 9.5). Can you expand on where you ran out of road?

This was a great talk by @scott.hanselman.com. Really hit me in the "feels". My origin story has similar timing and notes, and I feel incredibly lucky that my parents allowed me to tinker with technology. It isn't a gift that I (or anyone) should receive lightly.

If @davidfowl.com sent you a random command to run in your terminal would you run it?

Bit of road trip excitement. Cruising down the Hume at at 110km/h all of a sudden a Ute comes flying up behind me doing ~150kn/h. I pull over to let him pass.Minute later highway patrol race past with lights on.

Few minutes down the road I suspect the driver is losing license.

Iโ€™m out of #aspire stickers otherwise I would have left a trail of them up the east coast of Australia.

I think you can selectively import the modules you actually want to use rather than the whole universe.

These were seriously great devices. My cousins had one and I was always impressed by the crispness of the approach to graphics.

This 100%. Singing Shayโ€™s irked me about the way that done people talk about Rey in Star Wars and I think this nails down what it is.

I have an 8 node bare metal kubernetes cluster running in my garage with shared nothing block storage and network load balancing controlled by BGP broadcasts to my router.

But I might be unusual.

30.06.2025 12:55 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 0    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

We have been thinking about what it means to start a subset of resources by passing in some kind of configuration value - but it would probably build on top of what I've mentioned above./๐Ÿงต

30.06.2025 12:55 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 1    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 2    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

There are options - its quite configurable. One of the things you can do is decorate your services "WithExplicitStart(...)" - what this does is stop them starting unless you explicitly start them. You could use that building block to do whatever you want. /๐Ÿงต

Introducing the Framework Desktop and newest Framework Laptop 13 Choose between our latest Framework Laptop 13 powered by Ryzenโ„ข AI 300 Series processors or our brand new Framework Desktop with Ryzenโ„ข AI Max Series processors.

oh ... and the device would be totally repairable. When you buy it it comes shipped as a bunch of components that just snap together. They should work with frame.work on it.

The device would have the usual bluetooth/wireless/cellular connectivity options but you could also install things like SDR modules.
