New preprint! Based on a rumor model, we distinguish whether an increase in interest is organic or caused by an external impulse: the autocorrelation exhibits oscillations in the first case. We also study how to extend or shorten the life of a rumor. Check it out here: arxiv.org/abs/2505.24795
