I’m very much torn. Born in 1980 so I too have gotten to experience it all. But I appreciate the subscription model coming with constant updates and new content. Rather than having to buy the new version every year or so. But the monthly/annual price ends up being more than the buy once price.

I got lucky in my 20’s in the early XBox Online days and met some folks I never met in real life and don’t talk to anymore. But damn we had some great times in chat. Although it contained a fair amount of cussing, it was respectful. Now I only talk with my cousin cuz shats toxic!

I never got above level 40 something. But the brief period I did play in the 2000’s was in the Air Force in North Dakota on graveyard shift. On nights off I would just mine gold in the Barrens and read chat! I must’ve missed something because the way people respond when it’s mentioned!! Hahahahaha
