For the record this is why I tend to avoid survival type games but a lot of games aren't survival games and would be perfectly fine or even better without the survival mechanics and then added them in to what was already a complete and satisfying gameplay loop to just ruin the flow and waste time

The same goes for durability and (to a lesser extent) encumbrance like yippie I gotta remake/repair an item I already obtained before using resources that take time to gather

Or yippie I'm holding too much stuff in a game where you gather stuff so now I can barely move until I drop or store it away

They gotta stop making a perfectly good video game and then tacking on survival mechanics so you can't enjoy it for too long without foraging for food or having a nap or whatever

Like some games can pull it off such as rimworld or don't starve but often it just gets in the way of having a good time
