When shows nail in the structure again, I think Slow Horses, Ponies, Pluribus are all doing it… then it is QUITE engrossing. I’m not drifting, I can’t have them in the background.

But getting our attention on one screen is not enough. If you realise the intent is to destroy us, then it makes sense.

So many current shows build to one cliffhanger at the end of the episode, a perfect trap to then chainsmoke the next episode.

But that slower build without mini attention grabbing structured mini peaks encourages viewers to drift to second screening while still binging. The show is designed for it.

I have this theory nothing has changed in our ability to concentrate on a tv show.

The difference is past shows were built on a repeated pattern of building to a cliffhanger before *every advert break* then crescendoing those till the end of the episode, to satiate you for a WEEK till the next one.

I suffer from this quite severely, just to back up that, for me, documentation after the fact, and/or live commentary has helped me enormously

Sometimes I describe the dynamics of a conversation while in the conversation - it comes across as a recap to others - and it helps me process.

I have been attending business conferences and meetings and it seems to come up every four seconds.

I have been casually recommended it countless times to put critical documents together - β€œoh just use AI”, β€œjust vibe code it”, it’s literal insanity.

So many things are wrong and literally people are voluntarily deskilling themselves, obliging, deferent

It’s barely a step away from collaboration. I know that sounds overblown but they put the whole world in a blender and are using it to tear children apart.

I am angriest about Gen-AI because it is specifically dismantling every tool of resistance we have. Unalgorythmically-dictated OG unslopped social media, forums, easily searchable internet, development of self expression & creativity, reliability of information, all builds community & a new world.

Also if you use it as an organisation it suggests that you simply…. do not know how to organise

04.03.2026 17:31 β€” πŸ‘ 4    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

This is really important. If you use Gen-AI as a creative literally in any way, you are both *endangering your own copyright* AND plagiarising others’ copyright. There is no such thing as β€œAI-assisted creative work”, it is entirely (oxy)moronic

Without a strict & clear anti-AI policy in place for both the writing & the art I wouldn’t even read the magazine let alone submit. I just immediately close websites even mid-sentence if I spot any AI art or words, the whole site becomes dead to me, like what is even the point of me being there.

Art people: Does anyone know what’s happened with Artline Supreme Colouring Pens?

They are so good for just ideating chunkily on big bits of paper without worrying about detail…. But suddenly they seem to be v difficult to find

Toooo be clear I do not mean hide history because we must must must learn from history. But there is an absolute rabid, perverse fascination with Nazism in the West.

They were learning from history too. What to do different next time

01.03.2026 13:43 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

I have a galaxy-brained take that the walls & walls of WW2 books in every UK & US bookshop built generation after generation of men (yes mainly men) who fanatically studied Nazism

Plus, every TV show baddie being the Nazis, made them hold centre stage

We should snuff this stuff out into obscurity.

Expertise in a subculture, especially professionally, eg. to report on it, with good understanding & training in the psychological impact so you can separate yourself - is VERY different from eg a 20 year old game designer mainlining misogyny. The very idea of β€œLearning both sides” IS propaganda

Yes, a student of mine said he disagreed with the manosphere & Jordan Peterson stuff but reads/ listens to it constantly to β€œsee what the enemy think” & meant it sincerely, he does disagree

But it is such clear nonsense. You have limited time on this Earth. Nourish yourself however you can

Trump Jr is on the advisory board of Polymarket & invested in them in 2025

There was a raid on the CEO’s home in 2024 & other gov investigations into Polymarket…All of which suddenly stopped

Weirdly/Grossly Jr is also working with their rival Kalshi as an advisor

Blatant, deathcult psycho shit

I’m so feverently against AI and yet I utterly forget it exists. And then suddenly I’m reading or looking at something being like why does this feel so weird & wrong. My brain spends time trying to explain it in some way until I finally remember

It is such a waste of synapses. Stop using it 🎨🎨🎨🎨🎨
