They are united by the noble goal of saving lives, and the forests of #Latakia are the forests of all of #Syria. Firefighters from the #Syrian Civil Defense, firefighting brigades, and forest firefighting units stand hand in hand to battle the wildfires until they are extinguished.

The President of the Syrian Arab Republic, Mr. Ahmad Al-Shar’, met with members of the Supreme Committee for the People's Assembly elections at the People's Palace in Damascus.

It was a difficult night for firefighting teams as flames spread through a steep valley in the Sheikh Hassan area of Qastal Ma’af in northern Latakia. Strong winds caused the fire to jump from burning spots into the valley, despite the firebreaks prepared by the teams.
