Colorist @matlopes.bsky.social has been an unsung (at least by me) hero in all this, too. After recently seeing someone else color Chris's art, I realize how much Matheus did to make it shine in this series!

Cover art to Batman and Robin Year One #12 by Chris Samnee. Batman and Robin are jumping off of a building, into the glare of a spotlight.
I had the biggest, goofiest grin on my face as I finished this issue! @chrissamnee.bsky.social & Mark Waid really crafted something to be proud of with this series: excitement, intrigue, and heart, all gorgeously drawn. #LunchtimeReading

Thanks for sharing this link! I can't quite picture a Kirby-edited book he wouldn't also write/draw... but would've loved to have seen what he'd have done with the title. Especially who he'd choose to work on it...

Cover art to Thor #251, by Jack Kirby and Joe Sinnott. Hela lords over Thor, as he's being dragged down by hands reaching from beneath the ground.
Splash page art to Thor #252, by John Buscema and Tony DeZuniga. Odin's Grand Vizier stares into flames which fills the foreground. Thor, Sif, Balder, and the Norn Queen Karnilla wait pensively in the background.
Odin is missing! Is he dead? Hela says "nay" in Thor #251, with this satisfyingly grim Kirby cover. It took a while for Tony DeZuniga to fill Joe Sinnott's shoes, but by #252 it feels like his inking's less rough, & better suited to portraying Asgard. #ThorReread #LunchtimeReading

Thor and Co. are back in Asgard ... but something's wrong with Odin! Turns out his self-created amnesia followed by possession by the Egyptian pantheon (in preceding issues) have driven him mad! #AbsolutePowerCorruptsAbsolutely #ThorReread #LunchtimeReading

Cover art to Marvel Spotlight #30, featuring "Warriors Three", Thor's buddies Fandral, Hogun, and Volstagg. Full color images of the trio, as well as smaller vignettes of them in action. Artwork by John Buscema and Joe Sinnott (comics.org credits it to Rich Buckler/Sinnott, but if that's true, Buckler is doing his best to ape Buscema's style).
Opening splash page to Marvel Spotlight #30, featuring "Warrirors Three"-- Fandral, Hogun, and Volstagg are engaged in a barroom brawl in 1970s NYC. Artwork by John Buscema & Joe Sinnott.

In the middle of their Thor run, Wein/Buscema/Sinnott casually drop my favorite single issue of all, just like it was nothing special! The Warriors three haven't had many outings w/o Thor, but this gem lets them shine on their own! #ThorReread #LunchtimeReading

Cover art to Thor #244, where the thunder god is battling a trio of giant aliens called the Time-Twisters. A sword-wielding Jane Foster rushes up to help, while a futuristic city collapses and burns around them. Artwork by Rich Buckler & Joe Sinnott, with John Romita.

Continuing my #ThorReread w/ #240; feels like Conway's departure left the title in a lurch, playing deadline catchup w/ Mantlo on script, Sal on art, and _every_ editor to help it make sense! I like a lot of Mantlo comics, but he struggled with Asgard-ese in this early effort. #LunchtimeReading
