04.03.2026 00:16 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0It's actually a lovely bit of self care to go and browse the cheap CD's and take home a bargain bag of music you'll have for the rest of your life without bothering your bank account too much. I remember buying Scott Walker 1-4 for Β£20 and spending the most wonderful afternoon listening back to back

It's what I'll do in future, just keep that collapse in mind.
I didn't notice either being out though, not that I ever use Facebook, it disturbs me.
I feel there should be something about keeping the psychopaths in line there too.
03.03.2026 20:43 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Like I know anyone who's interested!
03.03.2026 20:42 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Aye, and Delia Derbyshire didn't write the Doctor Who theme but she owns it! Nice bit of trivia there for when the subject of the Sorry! theme comes up again (which is quite often considering).
03.03.2026 20:40 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Absolutely, and I still keep imagining the Great Crash, when everything online totally disappears and we're in the relative dark again. Then who's laughing? Well, not many people but I'll be sorted for viewing for a solid year or more.

People misuse YouTube for podcasts and video essays these days when what it was really designed for was stuff like this;

Picking up the ball and running with it, that is. Inspired.
03.03.2026 20:29 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0An absolute masterpiece. Ronnie Hazlehurst's finest moment surely, though the musique concrΓ¨te of Are You Being Served is worthy of laudation. In fact, the man was a genius in his genre.
03.03.2026 20:26 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I've been thinking I should repost things a little more often, especially total winners like this.
03.03.2026 19:10 β π 22 π 1 π¬ 1 π 0I really do prefer physical media but also am seriously running out of space for the things! But it's frustrating that stuff ends streaming and simply isn't available on Blu-ray or even DVD, so you just sit and twiddle your thumbs or you fire up the Pirate Bay. Bottoms was one. Couldn't buy it.
03.03.2026 18:45 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Yep, so they get banned, the insensitive bastards.
03.03.2026 17:49 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0If they remove Sigue Sigue Sputnik from the radio nobody will ever notice. Not that this should be the case, they were pretty good fun. Anyway, they're singing about a love missile not a hate missile and F111's aren't in service anymore so they should be alright.
03.03.2026 17:44 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 3 π 0God, those were stupid times. That they're even more stupid now is a troubling direction of travel.
03.03.2026 16:00 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Never been there but I didn't much like the fans of their football team. Most uncouth.
03.03.2026 14:44 β π 1 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0I can't pretend I'm not disappointed in this news.
03.03.2026 14:39 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Man, they haven't remembered how important the City of Culture was.
03.03.2026 14:34 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0The thing is in 1990 Glasgow discovered this new pride in arts, like we weren't just Edinburgh's uncultured sibling, and now the various authorities seem keen to wreck all that. For sure these are/were important spaces.

Audiobooks donβt really count as reading? Think again. news.harvard.edu/gazette/stor...
Education scholars say rigor, learning same as paper, stigma an unnecessary hurdle
I forget whether I've listened to or read books, the information is all in there in the same place, understood and processed. However I often find I've gone off on a train of thought with audiobooks and before I know it 15 minutes have passed where I've heard nothing, which doesn't happen with books
03.03.2026 13:24 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Needs must. We should have done that with The Arches. Christ, the CCA has gone belly up too. What a state.
03.03.2026 13:15 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I'll be there next week for a gig too so I guess that'll be a bit emotional. Hopefully by then the residents will have some form of resistance movement on the go that we can all get involved in. "You shall not pass" shit, like the old Poll Tax days!

Glasgow's murdering its own art scene. Ignorant bastards. Will it be more student accommodation? Another electrical fire and a modern glass box?

Mind you, I don't find the idea that BBC Scotland is full of those hard to believe.
03.03.2026 06:28 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Local evil Mao. FFS. But Trump's bloated, decaying, decadent shadow is being cast over the globe now.
02.03.2026 23:06 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Well, in recorded history anyway. Local evils like Pol Pots and Mao's were devastating, but this has the feeling of something larger and worse unless it's ended soon.
02.03.2026 22:50 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0It is, and who's stopping them? Who's going to stop the worst people in the world from doing whatever the fuck they want? It is obscene, but it's worse than obscene to see leaders globally bow and coronate them. Potentially the greatest evil in the history of humanity. Potentially.
