"The barabarism of the enemy" is colonial language. Fucking hell, can we never get past this stage of dehumanising brutality? It dehumanises US, not "the enemy". WE are the ones who lose our humanity and descend and devolve and demean ourselves. What a pitiful shame the West is.

Decades of dehumanisation don't get reversed overnight. There will always be people who are vulnerable those narratives and those who will exploit that weakness to gain power. I really don't want to be pessimistic but I am.
