Having flexibility built in to our buildings and systems makes it much easier to meet everyone’s needs.

Having a one size fits none approach misses out on so many of us, especially those who march to the best of our own drums!

There is huge irony in the mistaken belief that Autistic people are utterly inflexible when every day we advocate for our needs in an inflexible world!

Many reasonable adjustments cost very little to nothing and benefit far more than just Autistic folks.

I am hoping it will help those of you who are at the start of your journeys, but also those of you who have been travelling this road for a good few years and looking for a place with a lot of knowledge into one area.

It has been an absolute labour of love putting it together – so much of the information contained is info I wish I’d had when I first found out that my child and I are Autistic.

And also, to my family who have been incredibly understanding as I hid myself away in my office writing and brought me many cups of tea. I am sorry for frequently forgetting to bring the empty cup back down.

I express my deepest thanks to the amazing @createdbytmd.bsky.social for all their help making the website look as damn good as it does!

It has been a mammoth task that I’ve been working on for the last few months and I am utterly delighted to share it with you all today!

I tend to use the term as not everyone is familiar with the term allistic and often have to explain it when I do - which is fine! But I will admit this post was inspired by something yesterday and written rather hurriedly this morning!

I so relate to this. I remember talking to some friends who weren’t Autistic about touch and how they don’t feel contact after it ends and it was a huge lightbulb moment for me! And finding others like me was incredibly validating.
