The main reason I am not on X is I know enough about this stuff to know however immune one thinks they are to information ops, propaganda, and algorithmic manipulation it has an impact on the way you see the world. Even when you think you're kicking against it, you're dancing to their tune.

Yes, I agree with the point you make about research at US universities being largely fueled by immigration. What's truly exceptional is how a lot of that research found immediate application in the US market, again driven my immigration. Tech (e.g. Stanford) is a great example. Unlike in Europe.

Rule of law isn't exceptional in the case of the USA. Even the UK had it. Free(wheeling) markets and immigration, coupled with the post WWII economic order, definitely cemented US exceptionalism which was more of a political concept before that. USD being the world's reserve currency also helped.

More like undersells it. I mean, it is French after all.

Ever since I was a young kid, the exploits and the aura of NASA was the one thing that fascinated me about the USA. Nothing else came close. It is very sad and honestly embarrassing to see it being gutted in the current political climate.
