You have the advantage of hearing so work on come and sit. Say the words, do the sign. Use a treat pinched in your finger/thumb 🤌 . They see that. They read the gesture.
Sit = gimme five with a French kiss . other 3 fingers are flat.
Lay down = flip sit over.
Place = hang loose 🤙
Stay = 👊

I use the Sign language. With Anderson being 1/2 blind and deaf I had to teach him to look at me all the time. I was a treat machine. “come here” is Palm up , four fingers wave towards you. Treat train then treat wean.
