On 29 June 1985, European leaders chose a flag to represent a shared vision.

Twelve stars, not for nations but for unity, harmony and hope.

A symbol that has grown with us. From a sign of peace to a reflection of our values.

Today, we celebrate 40 years of the EU flag.

El 12 de junio de 1985, España apostó por un futuro común.

A lo largo de generaciones y regiones, Europa ha creado oportunidades y transformado vidas.

España ha contribuido a enriquecer Europa con su cultura, sus vínculos globales y su espíritu único de convivencia.
