Daily reminder to not take rejection in this shitty job market personally. I've really been trying to reframe it as their loss, not mine even as the financial toll on me gets worse. It's better for my mental health that way, at least a little. 🫑🫰🏻

Does anyone have a question for @samahill.bsky.social tonight?
And does anyone have an announcement or something to share with the group?

We’ve also got a great newsletter you can sign up for! It’s focused on the West and can be a bit California heavy some days, but still a great resource for paying attention to public lands. www.sfgate.com/newsletters/...

Q10: What experience should never disappear from a visit to a national park β€” no matter how much the world changes? #parkchat

A beautiful way to say it! #parkchat

Oh, yes. NEED the β€œparkitecture” protected and continued. Parks with modern building would be so strange. #parkchat

I meant IN the parks! Outside help has been so enthusiastic over the last year.

26.02.2026 02:44 β€” πŸ‘ 3    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

Yeah, that’s quite an immediate one, huh? πŸ™‰ #parkchat

Q9: When you picture national parks 50 years from now, what do you hope they still look or feel like? #parkchat

26.02.2026 02:40 β€” πŸ‘ 7    πŸ” 3    πŸ’¬ 11    πŸ“Œ 0

Feels like there are fewer and fewer people in line to defends the parks every month. #parkchat

Q8: What worries you most about the future of national parks? #parkchat

26.02.2026 02:35 β€” πŸ‘ 8    πŸ” 3    πŸ’¬ 13    πŸ“Œ 0

Very true! Everyone knows what they're going to see before they get there, these days.

26.02.2026 02:34 β€” πŸ‘ 4    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

Q7: Do you think younger generations connect with national parks differently compared to past generations? #parkchat

26.02.2026 02:30 β€” πŸ‘ 8    πŸ” 3    πŸ’¬ 8    πŸ“Œ 0

Showing up and speaking out about parks definitely helps! #parkchat

26.02.2026 02:28 β€” πŸ‘ 8    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

totally. I'm not close enough to any national parks to do any trail work, but I try to volunteer at my local parks when I can. #parkchat

26.02.2026 02:27 β€” πŸ‘ 7    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

Yeah, never a fan of the national park tier list. Fine for travel blogs, but they should all be treated the same when it comes to funding and protection. #parkchat

Q6: What responsibility do visitors have in shaping the future of parks? #parkchat

26.02.2026 02:25 β€” πŸ‘ 8    πŸ” 3    πŸ’¬ 13    πŸ“Œ 0

I lowkey used to be a wetlands hater, being from New England and moving to the PNW. Have learned to respect them a bit more over the past few years! Not everything can be a massive mountain! #parkchat

26.02.2026 02:24 β€” πŸ‘ 5    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

Totally agree. Out here in the PNW, trails are sometimes just abandoned after a rough winter or flooding event. Hate to see any park lose a trail. #parkchat
