Underrated classic of the comedy horror subgenre, not as good as the book, but more narratively coherent as it doesn't follow the collected journal entries format that 2/3rds of the book follows.
Also, the John and Dave saga is my favorite book series.

Also, this situation has allowed for there to be multiple simultaneous comic crossovers. Where Toho's Zilla is in Marvel and the Legendary Kong and Zilla have multiple crossovers. And that's not even getting into the IDW books that are criminally underrated.

I actually really like how Godzilla is being handled now, I think it's a great idea to have Legendary doing the shared universe thing out of the monster mash style of Kaiju flick, and Japan is doing these experimental, philosophical reimaginings.
