"This stuff must happen across the league" is not a reason to go easy on Ballmer and Kawhi. If others are doing this they should also be made an example of.

This is existential for the NBA. Is it a corrupt league where paying a few extra picks and some cash let's you break the rules?

If the Clippers AND Ballmer AND Kawhi aren't given meaningful punishments it will seriously deligitimize the league.

Kawhi has to be suspended for a year and contract voided so players have consequences.

Ballmer has to be suspended from the league.

Clippers have to lose their future picks.

They also said this is all "provably false." Instead of a statement containing an implausible set of coincidences (and basically throwing Kawhi under the bus), why not just share the proof? So much easier.

Rui's a solid player but for 17 mil/yr I think we can get someone more impactful that addresses the current roster weaknesses better than him. I wouldn't be sad if we extended him but I think packaging him in a trade for a POA wing defender and some reliable bench scoring would be the better route.

Lakers needs:
1. Plus defender + some scoring from wing
2. Bench scoring
3. Better backup 5

Trade/drop:
-Hayes (waived no trade), Maxi, Koloko, Trey
-Shake
-Knecht (please play better in SL!)
-1 of Vando/Goodwin? Plus D but weak O from both. Could trade 1 for the right player

Love that we got Ayton without trading any assets. Gives us options to snag another solid big/wing.

Hearing a lot of naysayers but he was best available, we're paying a fraction of his contract, and he's a clear upgrade over what we had. Dude's got skills and JJ will make sure he ups his effort. Also doesn't preclude a trade for another big/wing since we still have assets. Good risk/reward signing

Would love to land Mathurin but I think he takes the spotlight to up his stock without Hali, and Pacers less likely to move him now.

Yeah I think youre right (and he's better for us than Adams IMO), but there are always a few surprises that crop up in FA. Just saying we shouldn't get desperate and put ourselves in a bad position if he isn't able to turn it around in LA.

We need multiple centers, so it's ok to let him come in and compete. But if he doesn't land the starting spot, or doesn't perform in that role, that's a lot of money to pay a backup.

I have so much empathy and love for black people and what they've been forced to endure. Same for any that have been the target of hate, racism, and bigotry. FR this sickens me so much. Last year literally half of all laker games were unavailable on league pass. NFL and MLB have a few games where they do this, but NBA takes it to a whole new level. And it's spread across so many different networks it's impossible to watch your team without dropping $$$
