The dung ball was just a recipe for standard sourdough so it wasn't special. I followed a recipe for molasses bread I found online for the dung beetle. It was very tasty. Oh, and I used currants for the eyes.😃

Thanks! I hadn't made molasses bread before this and was pleased that it was easy to shape and it tasted good too.

A dung beetle fashioned out of molasses bread, fashioning the legs and attaching them was no mean feat. The dung ball was made of sourdough bread, much easier to make and bake. I miss doing GISH. My team had a blast doing all the item challenges.

Years ago I made a bread dung beetle as part of one of the items for GISH (Greatest International Scavenger Hunt). My entry even made the coffee table book that year. People on the judging committee must have appreciated dung beetles too.😃
