Thank you so much 🥹!! I really enjoyed making this small zine, and thinking up the places where Courier went with his bike. I have a couple of pieces with him planned/in the making, and there will definitely be more beautiful motorcycles there too 😌

That makes me so happy to hear — thank you!! Beyond drawing, I write quite a bit on the side, so I really enjoy when I get to combine those two things.

For this I knew I didn’t want to draw any people, so I leaned harder into dynamic lines/movement to give the landscape more emotion and character 💫

You raise a very good point. I’m curious what your experience has been seeing and posting oc art on bsky, in that regard, if you feel comfortable sharing!

I made this comic some time ago, in the format of one of those one-sheet zines. After going through a recent loss, something about it takes on a different dimension.

It's so interesting to see the evolution of your art style through Becky! I love that she's always been so bright and happy – she has a lovely smile ☺️

Can't blame you for that 𝘢𝘵 𝘢𝘭𝘭. Going back to traditional after doing digital art for a long time can be such a whiplash 😔

It's great to see you've embraced that! And I really get you on that front: once I let go of any expectations of what I felt I should do vs what I wanted to do in terms of my style, it really freed up my ability to express myself properly with my art and ocs 😊

There’s something so satisfying and sleek in how your style has evolved and it’s really neat to see examples of your earlier art. Also, I see that amazing textures have always been a constant!

I'm so glad you like it!! Unfortunately for Courier, his bike got sabotaged before the race. I didn't have it in me to draw the crash itself (though I admit it's been on my mind to do so), but during that the motorcycle caught fire and was essentially left irreparable 😞

Thank youuu lara!! I had a lot of fun rendering the bike, until I realised I had made it too small and had to restart over... adding an extra 10 hrs to the whole process lol

In Courier's defense.. it's not entirely his fault it crashed 😔!

It is... but I can at least guarantee that his next bike is decidedly better (at least the engine and circuitry are, lmao)

Drew this with the intention of getting it riso printed (hence the fluorescent pink) but that never happened. Even so, any excuse to draw Courier with his various motorcycles is a good excuse in my books 😌
