Glad to hear that, Alex! βΊοΈ

Looking forward to sharing it soon!

08.10.2025 17:51 β π 4 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I love the feeling of these β they're so delicate and sombre
07.10.2025 13:47 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Definitely agree with needing some time before posting a big pieceβposting it immediately makes everything feel raw, if that makes sense. I have a couple of sketches lined up before I go about posting something bigger and I think this gave me the kick I needed to share them. Thanks for the insight!
05.10.2025 23:53 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Re: not going into hermit mode, that makes a lot of sense! I imagine it's easier to keep up sharing regularly vs getting back into it after a long time. Even if the main purpose of your acc is to be a digital sketchbook, I'm really happy you share your stuff with us online; it's always great to seeβΊοΈ
05.10.2025 23:53 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0That warms my heart to hear! Thank you for telling me π
I try my best to ignore the feeling, but after going into hermit mode and doing just art for long periods of time itβs like I forget how to present it to others. Is there anything you do in specific to help you get through feeling this way?
The pieces to post exist, but the song and dance of sharing them are one I forget the rhythm of so quickly if I donβt do it consistently.
Props to everyone who manages to share their work regularly; hopefully I will learn these arcane arts too one day π
Sometimes when I donβt post for so long I feel the need to reacclimatise myself to posting by posting smaller, inconsequential things, because posting art starts to feel daunting after a lot of inactivity.
The solution I feel is posting sketches regularly, really, but I always seem to forget.

At the same time, the sheer amount of work complicated compositions require can be intimidatingβ¦ but if I break it down mentally section by section (βtoday Iβll work on X; tomorrow Iβll work on Yβ) it feels much more manageable π
18.09.2025 11:45 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I really get that! I find that when a piece has a lot of different elements I have to solve/figure out or that are interesting to render, Iβm kept more engaged and itβs easier for me to stick with it for longer, since it feels like Iβm doing something new when I pass onto a different section of it
18.09.2025 11:45 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0For etching, since itβs such a multi-stage endeavour, do you feel itβs easier/less intimidating to spend more time on a piece since that time is inevitably broken up in easily segmented stages by the demands of the etching process?
18.09.2025 11:29 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Thanks for replying, Alex! I have a couple of follow-up questions, if you donβt mind. For crocheting, do you think the fact that you can do it while still paying attention to something else helps you be able to do it for longer in one sitting?
18.09.2025 11:29 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 2 π 0That makes a lot of sense β doing art can sometimes be difficult to juggle with oneβs daily commitments. I really understand you when it comes to big paintings: the amount of time it takes for them to be completed can make it daunting for me to stick with them until the end. Thanks for sharing!
18.09.2025 11:24 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Thanks for sharing! Iβve found 3-4 hours to be my sweet spot too when drawing in one sitting.
Also, Iβm not surprised some of your pieces can take up to 30-40 hours to completion considering how atmospheric they are β you always put great care in the lighting and it shows!
Artists, how long do you tend to draw for in one sitting? And how many sittings or hours does it take on average for you to complete a piece? #artsky
17.09.2025 18:56 β π 4 π 3 π¬ 4 π 0The process behind the piece I'm currently working on has made me very curious about what other people's workflow is like. I'm always amazed at how quick and prolific some artists out there are!

This ends up with my procreate gallery having sometimes 20+ file iterations of one piece before I manage to get it fully done, and I never have the heart to get rid of any of the files that came before the final version π₯²
25.08.2025 13:22 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0What's your "artist red flag"? π©
Constantly duplicating a procreate file to fool myself into believing I'm getting away from the layer limit problem but β π΄π±π°πͺππ¦π³π΄ β this never works, and I always hit the limit again, regardless of how much I flatten my layers from the file before...
