It's easy really - a bit of old potting soil and keep adding waste veggie scraps, coffee grinds and bits of cardboard. I only use the softest veggies as it's indoor so only have bacteria and fungus, no worms or insects. Turn regularly to keep oxygenated. Amazing how quickly it all breaks down.

Potting compost is really expensive but there's a cheaper way of getting it - make it yourself. Here's my first batch of homemade compost made from household organic and non-organic waste. It feels like proper soil and smells like a Spring woodland - gorgeous.
