But yeah, if you want to do indie animation, don't judge your work based on the crazy budgeted productions, study limited animation, it will make the process feel WAY more achievable

I hope I'm not going off topic, but this is why I personally think we need more small-scale projects. A major issue among the indie scene I've noticed is that everybody wants to make all their projects ambitiously grand-scale. THAT'S why it's not sustainable. (1/3)

I was literally just talking about this with Toon4Thought. Specifically how we need a resurgence of cheaply made cartoons.

Lower budgets don't always mean lower quality. Sure, you're probably not gonna get high quality animation, but if the writing and dialogue are good enough, WHO EFFIN' CARES?

I had thoughts about animating in a similar style to the Hanna-Barbera cartoons and 70's TV anime, once you analize how they were animated and directed you can make something that looks great on a still frame.

It all comes down to direction as well as cinematography

I assure you, making an animatic or storyboard that isn't animated on-par with a Looney Tunes short doesn't hamper the quality of your work, you can still make great things without trying to be the next Disney or Don Bluth.

I'm so happy so many are speaking up about this, some people are so anti-corpro they think going Indy is the key to fixing every problem and that just isn't true especially for video games you need money and not every indie game hits as much as others, even Exposition 33 had Xbox backing them

Everytime I hear someone say 'go indie'. I feel the need to ask 'are you going to pay me?", one can't make art without money.
