Overall, this whole scenario, especially with the recent reveal; has very nearly reignited a spark of rebellion in me that makes me want to write a proper essay showing the downfall of this "beloved" gaming figurehead...

This. This is what happens when a major company is left unchecked and allowed time and time again to do what they want because consumers of their product froth at the mouth over nostalgia, branding and the like. Sooner or later, they'll try to patent the entire genre of "turn-based RPG" if-

From there, the "villain" is on an unintended redemption arc, doing their best to bring joy to the "hero". Like maybe it could be purely platonic and go on outings to see the good in the world and what the hero should be fighting for.

Or if spicy, take the romance route and call them dates lol

Have to wonder if there's ever been a piece of media where a villain who's determined to take over the world, or at least cause as much chaos as possible, meets a hero who looks so out of it or depressed that they stop and think "Hold up, I can't fight this one...they needs some fixing.".

Even though I have yet to terminate my account on "the other site", watching it burn slowly while still getting some bits of funny and happy news is morbidly exciting. For example, learning that MCR is touring next year is such a highlight for me!

The sheer rush of people coming over to this site from the dumpster fire that is the bad man's playground is a true delight to have <3

Unsure how to really phrase this but; I feel like rewarding people just for living their day-to-day really goes a long way, more than most would assume. Everyone deserves a reminder that putting in effort just to survive this world is a show of strength that shouldn't be underestimated.
