I'm a Gen Z grad a few years out... Most of my friends still don't have full time jobs. Many don't even have part time jobs.
I don't really either. I just gave up and went self-employed.
We really do need UBI or your future generations won't exist.
Things $400 million could actually fix:
- Health coverage for 40k Californians
- Literacy screening for every K-2 student
- 10,000 acres of coastal wetlands
- 5,000 homes for the unhoused
- Replace our fleet of aging Calfire bases
Things it doesn't fix:
- A billionaire's need for attention.

They changed the funding structure a few years ago here, switching the allocation from course enrollments to majors then blamed these departments for a structural, top-down change. This is entirely a political choice.
