VTuber PSA: Yes, your views are down right now. Most VTuber's numbers are down. On July 29th, 4 days ago, the median number of viewers for a Vtuber was 15. As of today, the median number of viewers is 3. That isn't a typo, 3. Also, this evening, 41% of VTubers had 1 or fewer viewers. In Twitch's effort to reduce view botting, a lot of VTubers have seen extreme reductions in view count. Although many larger VTubers didn't have the same decrease in viewership. A lot of VTubers seemed to lose around half of their viewership, while the top few actually saw a slight increase in viewers. It is highly unlikely that 90% of VTubers were view botting, so Twitch probably went a bit overboard. Then there is a chart with three collums labelled Last Summer, This Summer, and Today respectively. There are Two rows for Median and Average viewers respectively. Last summer the median was 18 viewers while the average was 96.39 viewers. This summer the median dropped to 15 while the average increased to 96.98. Today's section is highlighted in red and showing dramatically lower viewer numbers; the median being 3 and the average being 64.52.

Saw this on X and thought I'd post it here. Apparently lots of lurkers are being mistaken for view bots by Twitch and so a lot of smaller VTubers are experiencing significantly less view counts than normal. 1/2
