When you say “only the vulnerable” are at risk… you’re saying that vulnerable people are expendable.

When you say “only those with pre existing conditions will die”… you’re saying our lives don’t matter.

You can become one of the “vulnerable” at any time.

Many of us were healthy…until we weren’t.

We aren’t angry enough

She applied for asylum in the US but rather than finding safety, she was thrown in a camp for a year.

A judge ruled she couldn’t be sent back to Morocco, so the regime sent her to Cameroon.

It’s illegal to be gay there too:

A woman called the health department because she saw a man in a wheelchair in the kitchen of a restaurant

She wanted to make sure he hadn’t touched her food

She found it gross and “unappetizing” to see a disabled person

This is ableism

People don’t want to “deal” with disability. So they don’t.

ICE held a British granny and her husband for 6 weeks because his visa had expired.

Karen Newton’s tourist visa was fine. She was still shackled and thrown in detention.

Why? Because she helped him pack.

They offered to buy flights back to the UK and were imprisoned instead

You cannot ethically administer a dignified death without first guaranteeing a dignified right to life.

That’s the conversation we need to be having.

He had valid ID
