In the dead of night last night, I woke up choking on the disgusting, partially-digested contents of my stomach that came back up my esophagus, and if that’s not a big mood for American politics right now, I don’t know what is.

Also please don’t try this at home or with random chickens. I am a professional chicken tender. My chickens know me and I know which ones will begrudgingly accept snuggles and which ones will peck my eyes out. (LOOKING AT YOU, WYNONA).

I only get baby fever during chick season. Why are baby chicks so CUTE?!?

Maybe I’ll go out and force-cuddle one of my chickens. Hopefully won’t get pecked in the face. Worth the risk.

Me to my partner, when I’m super overwhelmed and stressed:

One of my favorite things about teaching Children’s Lit class is making my students read books they read when they were little.

They turn back into those delighted young children again, reading with joy and open hearts.

Warms my soul.
