You do need utensils. I think of Chicago-style like the love-child of pizza and lasagna. Nothing warms you up when the hawk, like Chicago style. But youre never gonna grab a slice of Chicago-style and stroll Coney, right?

It’s a different thing.
NYC has GREAT NYC pizza. But Chicago pizza is different. It’s made to withstand that Midwest winter and keep you going. They’re just two separate things. You can love both!

Look the simple answer is that all the people who love the family of C languages will tell you you can't be a dev without them. But there are many many devs who do make games every day. Does knowing C or other backend languages to hang your framework on help? Sure. Do you HAVE to have it? No.

I would suggest that while yes, what you're saying is true? Perhaps arguing about it with the guy whose money you want might be counterproductive. I would ask three questions. 1) What implied or inferred promise did he pick up on that was left unfulfilled?
