So if I'm reading these exam regulations correctly, only women need to be qualified to act as an observer. Men just need to exist.
Seems unintentionally on brand for academia I guess.

It is really impressive how shitty the "search" functionality in essentially all Google products is, considering that that used to their entire selling point.
Search in the Gmail app just doesn't do anything, but also doesn't tell you that.
Searching chrome history doesn't find anything ever.
Why not repeal the laws of thermodynamics? They've been holding us back for way too long!

05.02.2026 19:13 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I still don't quite understand what conda is supposed to *be*, but apparently using it to install sagemath involves downloading completely separate versions of perl, python, and open-jdk among a full GB of other crap. All of which definitely already exist on my system.

Me, the naive dipshit: I'll just install sagemath real quick to check something.
Wise Maintainers: Oh yeah, no there is no sagemath Ubuntu package anymore.
M: Huh...
W: But you can install it via "conda"! Much better.
M: So there's an Ubuntu package for conda?
W: [manic laughter]
That would make slightly more sense. (I maintain that that's not supported by the wording.) It still assumes that papers are rejected for actual problems and not because there's not enough room and the reviewers were slightly less enthusiastic than those for the other 20 perfectly fine papers.
03.02.2026 07:15 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I'm sorry, but what? People want authors to be blocked from submitting because they had a paper rejected? That's insane.

So far the super serious contenders are "π±" because we're planting m at position i, or "π" because m is being injected at position i.
