Back in 2018, my PhD supervisors @davehone.bsky.social and @robknell.bsky.social organised a conference with Doug Emlen to bring together palaeontologists and sexual selection scientists. Kevin Padian spoke about his work with Horner, and their interpretation was comprehensively panned.

This might be a good opportunity to link to my first ever publication, in which we test Padian and Horner's 'species recognition' hypothesis (something they never bothered doing) in ceratopsians and found no evidence for it. royalsocietypublishing.org/rspb/article...

I acknowledge that I made the cardinal sin of failing to include a scale bar in this photo, but the only objects I had to hand were my phone and my swimming trunks and I don't think it was possible or appropriate (respectively) to use either.

I should say that I've no idea where the stone is originally from, or how old it is!
