On the top is the Vegan Special, whole pie on the left and slice on the right. It consisted of red sauce, Anaheim peppers, red onion, broccoli raab, roasted garlic, mushrooms, and black olives, plus vegan cheese on a satisfyingly chewy crust with crisp edges. The bottom left is the Beet and Fennel Salad (vegan version), which consisted of beets, fennel, arugula, salted cashews, creative and lovely cardamom candied orange, and balsamic syrup and lemon oil. The bottom right shows the outside of Meta Pizza PDX with picnic tables in front.

We were impressed and pleased by our first meal from metapizzapdx.com, which serves up hand-tossed pizzas in Brooklyn, PDX inspired by family pizzerias in Brooklyn, NY. They have two vegan pizzas on the menu that feature delicious combinations of thoughtfully chosen and prepared veggies.

I was at Prince Coffee on NE Fremont this morning and learned they get Nuvrei macarons on Saturdays, to sell. Got a couple, both tasting of chocolate and nuts, and it was a really nice treat. #portland
