KCMO issues response to allegations raised by former employee in civil lawsuit A lawsuit alleges that KCMO City Manager Brian Platt wanted to "lie to the media," and when a former employee pressed Platt about, he was demoted.

"Platt then allegedly replied, 'Why not? In Jersey, we had a mayor who would just make up numbers on the fly from the podium, and no reporters ever called him on it.'"
