The Beatles perform I Should Have Known Better on the train in A Hard Day's Night.
The shoot takes place at Twickenham Film Studios, where the set is rocked to simulate train movement while the Beatles mime to the song.

Because of this feat and the way Christian pushed the guitar out of the rhythm section and into the front line of jazz orchestra's, he was also seen as the stepping stone to lead guitarists in bands.

Up until that time, jazz guitarists struggled (knowingly or not) with their instruments projection, as the technology of recording was only just starting to improve. Enter amplification and connecting a speaker directly to a guitar, you have yourself some clear sounds!

This swing and jazz cat who played with the Benny Goodman Sextet and Orchestra was not only a key figure in the development of bebop - he was among the first musicians to use the electric guitar!

Today's Black musician is more an indirect influence to George's life than directly - however he's still a very important piece of the music puzzle:
Charlie Christian!

Black background with white text: โIโve always loved a lot of old blues artists, people like Robert Johnson and Memphis Minnie.โ - George Harrison, Chicago Tribune, November 1976 โ[H]ow fantastic they were โ some of those old Muddy Waters and Robert Johnson things. And I began to realize that, though a lot of those blues were 12-bar things, some of them donโt change at all โ theyโre all on one chord and thereโs a natural connection there with the Indian thing. So Iโd really like to try mixing Indian drones with blues guitar just to see what comes out. I know it could work out.โ - George Harrison, Record Mirror, January 1, 1972
Here are a couple of quotes from George showing his love for Johnson and the blues genre - which made a notable mark on his music in both his solo work and a couple of his Beatles songs ("Savoy Truffle" "For You Blue" etc)
creds to harrisonarchive on tumblr for the quotes!

Robert Johnson was a blues guitarist and was best know for being a pioneer of the Delta Blues. However long ago he was around for, his unique guitar techniques and vocals were and are embraced by generations of blues musicians.
