Went on a little road trip yesterday to... a wiener dog race! 49 dogs in 7 heats. Some dogs wandered off course. Some decided they preferred another dog's "enticement." Some were absolute speed demons. My friend's dog didn't win, but it was A+ entertainment.

Watched a Nat Geo series with a scientist/diver who basically befriended this one octopus, Scarlet. Scarlet was observed going on crab hunts with a trout buddy. Then the scientist pointed at a crab and Scarlet totally understood her and scooped it up. Inter-species communication is so cool.

Back in the late 70's in junior high, we all had to take home ec. and shop. They split out the classes into girls/boys, and I seem to recall that meant some of the projects were different. I much preferred shop class.

About 20 years ago in NYC, I got on the elevator, and Hulk Hogan was striding across the lobby so my friend held the door. I said (probably a little loudly) that I didn't want to share with "that orange idiot." HH glared at me and refused to get on.
