Voter’s “did it again!!” They voted for Talarico and his biggest donor is an Israeli billionaire Republican named Mariam Adelson. I also did a quick google search. It’s all right there, in our faces. Smh. Also, articles from last summer. 🙃🫠

And you keep telling yourself that Black women, and Black folks in general, don’t have valid reasons to suspect the motivations of non-Black people in this country.

I think what’s pissed me off the most wasn’t even MAGA folks who were coming at me. It was DEMOCRATS who were mad that I was supporting and campaigning for Crockett. And the masks (*coughs* Hoods) came off for a good majority of those folks.

So, Democrat is not synonymous for ally anymore.

At this point. It’s been made very clear Black women in particular are not a valued group to anyone in this country if I’m going by actions. And I’m tired. I’ve voted, advocated, knocked doors, and have been told we need to wait our turn 43 years. I’m done. Y’all got this.

The base are the people who go out in the rain and the snow and the heat and vote consistently without having to be entertained, persuaded, cajoled etc. to the polls.

I’m really struggling to imagine Congress without Rep Jasmine Crockett next year. We need more fighters, not fewer.

They prefer “safer” candidates it would seem. Not fighters.

Welp. They got this then.

You will always have my support. But beyond you it will have to be earned. And I mean that. It’s clear too many of our “allies” have become too reliant on Black voters just falling in line after they’ve spit and played in our face. Allies, am I right?

Because she’s a strong, brilliant, and unmatched human being. Just the wrong color for this state.

When pressed they ALWAYS ultimately tell on themselves. Who needs allies like this, am I right?

Just repeating what YOUR allies told me. You’re right. We are better off knowing exactly where we stand. Perspective is Clarity.

I’ll continue to support Crockett until she leaves office in January. I’ll be sad to see her leave.

But Talarico and his supporters have made very clear they don’t need 92%ers/Black voters to win. They have the numbers with just White and Hispanics voters.

I’ve been hearing for months that they don’t need the 92%ers and Black voters to win this. Because they have the numbers with crossover moderate Republicans and Christian Nationalists who they can compromise with.

I voted for Crockett.

So the only thing I have for Talarico is… Thoughts & Prayers

If Talarico loses the general, I can already see think pieces blaming the loss on Crockett and Black voters somehow 😒

Human trafficking isn’t a distant crime. It’s here. In our cities, online, and inside systems that protect power while the vulnerable are exploited. Human beings are not commodities. If we want a future worth living in, this trade has to end.

Something in me told me to be prepared for this moment. This feeling. But that doesn't make it hurt any less when the weight of disappointment/betrayal(?) hits you.
