It's really bad when a bad world makes us worse, but it's so very hard to fight it. When someone feeds us to sharks it's hard not to hate them and the shark even if it makes whatever good is inside us get a little twisted and rotten. It is very sad.

But Talarico has a significant track record of doing really good work in Texas as well. He's not like a random guy. I think Crockett could win and do great but acting like there's Only One Good Outcome is wild to me!

Yeah I mean. Maybe optimistically I think that there's enough anti Paxton in particular sentiment to reset that energy by November.

The question is like will the animating energy of the primary lead into general turnout or will there be pouty losers (i kinda think the latter because of other factors that are driving turnout)

I truly do not get what argument you're trying to make here? That the party should have invested a plan in a campaign that didn't exist? And it's gatekeeping because of that? What are you talking about?

It isn't gatekeeping to say knowing what is happening influences the strategy as chosen. That's just sorta the nature of time...

Alao again this is my frustration re outside of texas folks discussing the politics. Many people, me included, would prefer Talarico for gov and Crockett for senate but because she wasn't a part of the conversation at the state convention and came in late that isn't possible, which sucks

Yeah this would have been preferred, and I 100% hate the pac ads. The campaign didn't run those and I think the PA pushing them was a fucked up choice and a huge error.

It's just a meaningful concern. I alao don't really get the issue here. I have a preferred candidate and the argument that only one has a chance to be good belies a misunderstanding of the fact that both are good one isn't uniquely better suited to the political task. I don't get the animus here.

I didn't deny that, and they have distinctly different backgrounds and policy approaches. They also have different strategies and priorities this is like on the record also significantly Talarico started his campaign much earlier and Crockett entered at the deadline, which effects the primary.
